Rough in is where a renovation is won or lost

By the time tile is going on, the plumbing decisions have already been made. Drain locations, vent routing, fixture centrelines and blocking all get set at rough in, and correcting any of them afterwards means opening up finished work.

So we want the drawing and the fixture schedule before rough in, not after. If a fixture you have chosen will not work where it is drawn, it is far better to have that conversation while the walls are open.

Being the trade that does not hold up the job

On a renovation you are not managing one trade, you are managing a sequence. Plumbing sits early in that sequence, which means running late does not just delay us, it delays the drywaller, the tiler and the cabinet installer behind us.

We would rather give you a date we can hold than the date you want to hear. Where we are waiting on a fixture or an inspection we say so early enough for the schedule to absorb it.

Secondary suites

Adding a suite brings its own set of questions: whether the existing service can carry another kitchen and bathroom, how the drainage ties in, what needs separating, and what the municipality will want to see. These vary between municipalities across the region, and they are much cheaper to answer before the work starts.
